Trust builds conversions. When people know you're Trust builds conversions. When people know you're not trying to manipulate them, they stick around longer, engage more, and buy when they're genuinely ready instead of when a countdown timer scared them into it.

Aligned leads convert at a higher quality than volume-driven ones. A consent-based funnel might bring you fewer names on your list, and that's a feature, not a flaw. Those are the people who resonate with your actual values, respond to your emails, and often become long-term clients or collaborators.

Slower doesn't mean less successful. Consent-based marketing tends to move at a more sustainable pace, which works especially well if you're managing ADHD, chronic illness, caregiving, or just plain burnout. That pace gives you room for thoughtful tweaks and deeper connection instead of a constant chase for the next conversion.

So yes, it converts. It just measures success on a timeline that respects your energy and your people's autonomy, instead of one built for urgency and burnout.

Have you seen a slower, more relationship-driven approach pay off in your own business?

Share your experience in the comments - I'd love to hear it.

ID: Title, 'Consent-Based Funnels Convert Because...' with the Just Marketing logo at top right, three navy rounded banners on a magenta-to-blue gradient with dotted circle accents read: consent builds trust and trust builds conversions; aligned leads equal higher quality conversions; and slower doesn't mean less successful.

A consent-based funnel isn't some abstract philoso A consent-based funnel isn't some abstract philosophy - it's five stages you can build one at a time.

Start with clarity and intention. Before you build anything, get honest about what you're offering and why, so your funnel is rooted in your values instead of a template you found online.

Create a welcome opt-in that stands on its own. Your freebie should be genuinely useful, even if someone never buys another thing from you.

Design a nurture sequence that's actually transparent. Tell people what they signed up for, how often you'll show up, and how to leave whenever they want.

Make your sales process optional, not forceful. Invite people to buy. Skip the fake scarcity and the guilt-trip subject lines entirely.

Maintain consent well beyond the funnel. Check in periodically, make unsubscribing painless, and keep showing up with care.

Five stages.

The blog breaks down each stage with specific tips (plus accessibility notes for making your opt-ins more inclusive)...

Check it out: MegBrunson.com/Consent-Based-Funnels

Which stage are you starting with, or which one's tripping you up right now?

Halloween (October 31) - Whether you’re into creepy costumes, candy corn (love it or hate it?), or just a good excuse to watch Hocus Pocus again, Halloween is all about embracing creativity and fun. Bonus: It’s also a great marketing opportunity to show your playful side!

October offers endless opportunities for impactful content. Whatever you choose, focus on authenticity and connection.

What does "consent-based marketing" actually look What does "consent-based marketing" actually look like in practice?

Not just a vibe. Not just a nice phrase for your About page. Actual, practical choices you make in your funnel.

Here's what it comes down to:

1. You tell people exactly what they're signing up for, and you deliver that - no bait and switch, no surprise upsell they didn't agree to.

2. You give folks a real option to opt in or opt out, with zero guilt, zero shame, and zero manipulation tactics designed to make leaving feel hard.

3. You honor boundaries - theirs and yours. That means respecting a "no" the first time, and not chasing someone who's already told you they're not ready.

4. You offer genuine value before you ever ask for the sale, and you don't punish the people who aren't ready to buy yet by cutting off their access to helpful content.

Want the full breakdown of how to build this into your own funnel?

Check it out: MegBrunson.com/Consent-Based-Funnels

Which of these four hits closest to home for you right now? Tell me in the comments.

ID: Title, 'Consent-Based Funnels...' Just Marketing logo at top. Four rounded callout pairs on a pastel background read: Tell people what they're signing up for and deliver exactly that; Gives folks the option to opt in or out, without guilt, shame, or manipulation; Honors boundaries, yours and theirs; and Offers value before asking for a sale and doesn't punish people who aren't ready to buy.

Here's the thing nobody tells you when you're star Here's the thing nobody tells you when you're starting out: funnels aren't the problem. The manipulation baked into most funnel templates is the problem.

You can absolutely guide people toward working with you - attract them, nurture them, invite them to buy - without a single guilt trip, fake countdown timer, or "act now or regret it forever" energy.

We call it a consent-based funnel.

Same destination. Completely different path to get there - one built on transparency and respect for the human on the other side of the screen.

If you've ever felt torn between "I need to market my business" and "I refuse to manipulate people to do it," this post is for you.

Curious what a funnel looks like when it's built on consent instead of coercion?
